Enquiries: how we use your details
What we collect
When you send an enquiry form on our website, we keep:
- your name, and your business name if you give it
- your email address and/or telephone number
- your current website or Facebook page, if you give it
- your message
- the boxes you tick about what's costing you time, and which of our pages you sent the form from
- which ad or campaign brought you to our page, if any. This says which ad you came from, not who you are.
- the ad’s click reference, only if you tick the box.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to you and talk about what you need. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. If you are asking us for a website or other work, it is also a step you have asked us to take before a contract.
- To decide whether your business is a good fit for a free demo. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To understand what you need, and which problems come up most, counted in totals. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To see which ads and campaigns bring enquiries, counted in totals using the campaign details. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To link your enquiry to a specific ad click, using the click reference. Legal basis: your consent, which you give by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time, and we will delete the reference.
We do not use your details for marketing mailings. We do not sell them.
Where it goes
Your enquiry is stored in our private records with our hosting provider. If we reply by email, it goes through our email provider, Google. We do not send your details to any ad platform, such as Google Ads or Meta.
How long we keep it
- If you do not become a customer, we delete your enquiry 12 months after we last heard from you.
- Click references and campaign details are deleted after 90 days, or with your enquiry if that is sooner.
- If you become a customer, your enquiry becomes part of your customer record and is kept for as long as we need it to provide the service and meet our legal obligations.
Demo websites
Page statistics
We count visits to each demo as daily totals only. We don’t keep IP addresses or identify visitors, and the totals set no cookies. Totals are kept for 90 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing whether our demos are seen.
Checkout and payments
If you choose to buy a website, Stripe handles the payment. We keep payment and contract records to fulfil your order and meet our accounting obligations. Legal basis: our contract with you, and our legal obligations. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Security
To deliver our pages, protect our forms from misuse and keep our service secure, our server processes connection information, including IP addresses. Security logs are kept for up to 14 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
Cookies
Our public pages and enquiry forms set no cookies, and we do not use advertising pixels or analytics cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your details;
- correct them;
- delete them;
- limit how we use them;
- give you your details in a common format, or send them to another organisation, where this right applies;
- stop using them, if you object to our legitimate interests.
You can also withdraw your consent for the click reference at any time. Email contact@devereworks.com. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
